My daughter Ella is lucky enough to have Una attend her playschool to give weekly yoga & mindfulness sessions. I had the pleasure of attending the mammy and child session recently and was just blown away. To see my daughter who has ASD and is pre-verbal participate so wonderfully was a joy. She was following Una's lead, copying her movements and singing along. I was amazed at just how much these sessions have helped with her overall social development. Thank you Una for the unique way you engage and stimulate my daughter. It really is fantastic

Una Curran from Finding Your Wings came into Scoil Mhuire Junior for a six week block to work with all the children. We were getting work done in the school at the time and therefore the hall wasn’t always available each week. Una was really flexible where the sessions took place and adapted each week depending on whether the hall was available or a classroom.
Each week Una had a different theme and had all the resources to match. The children and teachers both really enjoyed the sessions. The children learned breathing techniques, regulation exercises, story massage and mindfulness. The children really embraced and benefited from all these new skills they were learning. One week we invited the parents in to participate in the session with their children. It was beautiful seeing the children and parents connect in a quiet and mindful way.
Following the six sessions the teachers continued doing Una’s online sessions. Following the sessions with Una the teachers requested that they have a wellbeing session with Una as part of wellbeing. I would highly
recommend Una for wellbeing and mindfulness classes with children and adults and look forward to having her back again next year.

Una had a beautiful presence when she was in our school. Her calming voice drew children and staff into her beautiful space that she created. Everyone looked forward to Una coming every week. The children would associate Thursday with Una coming to the school and they would look forward to their "quiet time" as they would put it. It was clear what effect the wellbeing sessions had on the children. They would leave Una's space re-energised, regulated and have a calmness through them.
Even when the sessions were finished in the school, the teachers took some of Una's work and made it part of the classroom. Through the online webinars and making wellbeing an important part of the day. It was lovely watching how much of a positive impact Una's sessions had on the children and what can be achieved when children are given a safe space to slow down and be present.

Attending mindfulness online with Una Curran has provided our children with a huge opportunity they would NEVER experience in their daily lives. Mindfulness within our room has provided our boys with the opportunity to practise mindfulness with a professional who knows how to engage, stimulate and relax the children at all the correct times.
Having access to the classes every fortnight enables our boys to build on the skills and in turn the difference in their focus/ attention and relaxation from start to finish is unrecognisable. Furthermore, as a teacher it has enabled me to further my skills by watching Una and learning from her each and everyday.
The boys are so sad that Una won’t be coming to visit them in the classroom anymore. It was one of their highlights and we are already asking if she will be back to us next year! The thematic approach used by Una further helped the boys focus and it was fascinating to see them bring up each story in conversation throughout activities in the following days. We really hope we will get the opportunity to work with Una again within our classroom through the education centre as it truly is a special experience for everyone involved

Thanks for the recent mindfulness sessions. The team were delighted to have the opportunity to stop and spend a little time on ourselves. With busy schedules and challenging workloads, it was definitely beneficial to participate in these sessions. Everyone loved the atmosphere on arrival, the sessions, a lit candle, the calming and refreshing room scent and then a comfy quiet space to practice mindfulness. I made an order to Josie’s botanicals for room spray for 5 of us! You have a special warmth which enhances the sessions. We were all sad that we could not continue. Hopefully if there is funding available in the future we can link in with you again

We all loved yesterday! I felt like a grouch beforehand and then like a new woman afterwards. I also got so much work done in the afternoon so it really showed me the power of taking time out.

When we were lying down on the floor and she was playing the bell it was so relaxing.
I really loved that part

Una facilitated wellbeing sessions for each class as part of our Wellbeing Week. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with from our very first interaction. The children got so much from the sessions. Una's kind and calming manner created such a peaceful atmosphere as soon as the children entered the room. They loved all of the different activities and both teachers and students alike commented on how enjoyable the sessions were

I have to say the parent and child workshop with Una was a really lovely experience. It gave my daughter and I the chance to really connect through story massage and the fun songs and movement. In particular the story massage was quite a moving moment for me, as a Mum to feel such a very special bond with my daughter. No distractions, just pure and simple quality time together. Priceless
